Hurkus & Laika
INTRODUCTION
This delightful family show, a cross between a concert and a storytelling session, offers us the chance to enjoy two stories narrated to choral and musical accompaniment. In short, it is a unique opportunity to have fun whilst appreciating the beauty of music and the spoken word through these two musical tales.
HURKUS ERREMENTERIA
Hurkus is a solitary blacksmith who lives in a remote cottage in the woods. Although somewhat rough around the edges, he is a good-hearted man. He spends his days working amidst sparks and the clang of hammers, accompanied by his dog Argos and his parrot Perroket. The villagers say he is very surly, very nasty and a complete lazybones. These rumours reach as far as hell. Satan, hearing that people say he is so wicked, decides to send a devil to Hurkus to take him to hell. But Hurkus is a very clever chap.
ZER DUZU LAIKA
Based on a Spanish-language text by Bernardo Atxaga written for children ("What happens Laika?). It is a reflection by a young girl who loves astronomy and walks her dog every night, as she wonders what might have happened to Laika, the Russian dog who travelled to the Moon on the first manned mission. A beautiful reflection on life and how to face the difficulties that arise.
